Antec computing kits target home entertainment crowd

Antec Multimedia Station

Antec has unveiled a new computing kit for those wishing to upgrade their existing PCs into being more multimedia focused. It is called the Antec Multimedia Station and there will be four models available, ranging in price from around $30 to $120.

Antec said these four new bundles, which include  IR receiver, remote and media management software, offer “1080p resolution, can play nearly all media formats and is compatible with Windows Media Center Edition, Windows Vista and XP.” More details on the four offerings can be found after the jump via Antec.

Multimedia Station E-Z
The perfect tool for users who want to build a basic media center, especially with laptops and PC screens. It comes with a portable external IR receiver that can be mounted on monitors or notebooks, and plugged into front USB ports. The E-Z model features Antec’s Standard Remote.

Multimedia Station Basic
The package for entry-level builders includes the Standard Remote and an IR Receiver designed to fit into a 3.5” drive bay. The receiver can be powered on or off by remote, or by a preset power schedule.

Multimedia Station Elite
Targeted at builders looking for exceptional style and convenience, the Multimedia Station Elite contains a Deluxe Remote and an IR Receiver with VFD display and volume control for 5.25” drive bays. The receiver includes an easily accessed volume control wheel and a VFD display.

Multimedia Station Premier
Designed for users looking for the ultimate comfort, style and functionality from their home theater. In addition to a Deluxe Remote, the Multimedia Station Premier features a deluxe IR receiver designed to fit into two 5.25” drive bays. This receiver boasts an LCD display and a front media control panel with menu navigation, a volume control wheel and media playback buttons.
