Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card GameThe MMO game Star Wars Galaxies is a popular game, though it has seen far from World of Warcraft levels of popularity. LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment are gearing up to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Star Wars Galaxies by launching a new companion product.

In August a Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game will be launched and unlike other trading card games where you can buy packs of cards at retail outlets, the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game will only be available to gamers with paid subscriptions to Star Wars Galaxies.

Every gamer with a paid account will get five cards per month at no additional cost and players will be able to purchase other card packs. Included among the first edition cards will be 20 different loot cards that are redeemable for special items in the game itself. Players can build decks to represent the dark and light side of the force and the card game can be played head-to-head or solo.
