Krell does up really pricey iPod dock, amplifier |

There are iPod accessores and then there are IPOD ACCESSORIES. The latter is the one we look at here with the new Krell KID and Papa Dock, priced at around $1,500 and $2,500, respectively.
Krell, which also has a nice $50k preamp/processor, does up iPod accessories like we haven’t really seen before. The KID itself is best described as an iPod dock on steroids, boasting such features as using fully differential output of the internal DAC for iPod-devices, digitally-controlled analog bass and treble controls and balance and single ended outputs.
The Papa Dock, meanwhile, docks the KID in a sorta scary sexual way, acting as an amplifier. It can add 150 watts of power to speakers as well as auto sensing/powering down when the KID stops touching its dock. Both should be available now.
