Belkin FlyWire makes home theater installs clean as a whistle

Belkin FlyWireIf your home theater is anything like mine you have a HD satellite box, PS3, Wii, Xbox and a few other items all trying to connect to the two available HDMI ports and other connectors on my TV. Then there is the problem of all the wires, which my wife seems to complain about with far too much frequency.

Belkin has a device that will go on sale in late October that will take care of both these problems called the FlyWire. The FlyWire comes in two versions with the normal FlyWire coming in October and the FlyWire R1 coming in Q1 2009.

Neither device is cheap with the FlyWire going for $999.99 and the FlyWire R1 going for $699.99. Both versions offer three HDMI inputs and one HDMI output and can stream HD programming from any attached device to your TV wirelessly. HD resolutions of 1080p and 720p as well as standard resolutions are compatible. The normal FlyWire can stream through your entire home, even through walls. The FlyWire R1 coming next year can only stream within one room.

  1. Electronic Gadgets Says:

Great design but a difficult price point at this time. It’s the same price as an HD DVR.
