New Actiontec DSL Modem is green

Actiontec GT701D

Actiontec earlier this week unveiled what it is calling an environmentally friendly DSL modem. It is called the Actiontec GT701D. No pricing information was available.

The Actiontec GT701D is a USB/Ethernet DSL modem with routing capabilities. It has an Energy Star rated power adapter, signfying tht it “uses at lest 30% less energy” than similar non-green modems. Other environmentally focused features include recycled packaging and less energy reportedly consumed during production.

Other features of the Actiontec GT701D in general incclude ADSL2/2+, two networking ports and increased available bandwidth. There is no word on availability.
