Epson Stylus Photo R2880Epson is touting its new Stylus Photo R2880 printer as one worthy of creating “exhibition” quality prints for professional and fine art photographers. This printer prices at around $800.

The Epson Stylus Photo R2880 offers something called UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta ink technology to produce a wider color gamut, reportedly thereby dramatically improving color quality. Another built-in technology is called Radiance and it “smoothes color transitions and optimizes highlight and shadow detail.”

Other features of the R2880 include a “professional” print head, media flexibility for various print sizes and direct CD printing. This printer will be available in June.
