E-Ink introduces new segmented display cell displaysE-Ink made a new display available last week, based on segmented display cell (SDC) technology. The new screens are said to be 40% thinner with increased flexibility over E Ink’s previous displays. Also, they can now be formed in “organic non-rectangular unique shapes, including holes, curves, and other non-standard designs”. Which means they can be used in a variety of ways.

We bring you a ton of concepts that don’t ever come to pass so it’s nice to see this one hitting the market. Delphi already has one use of the display in future keyfob products.
