UR-202 watch wound with compressed air
The UR-202 Hammerhead Automatic from Urwerk is a watch that demands your respect. It’s actually quite impressive. It features a unique winding system that’s regulated using compressed air. The 202 uses miniature twin turbines to control the rate of automatic winding and the level of air compression can be controlled using a 3-position selector switch.

The watch tells time in a unique way as well, using an elegant series of rotating hour blocks built around hands. They adjust their length to mark the minutes. The innovation here is pretty damn impressive. No pricing info and no date yet, but obviously this doesn’t come cheap. Check out a video below.

Always interesting to see what positive things we can do when we put our minds together. Sometimes I wonder why we spend time coming up with all the negative things and ways to make life difficult for others. Great watch though, I must say, but nothing I will be able to afford anytime soon.

that is the sickest watch i have ever seen, i want it, i need it, i have to have it, (even though the price will probable be enough to buy a car). but who cares its cool 5*****’s(x10).

  5. IanS Says:

Great post and great watch but there is no compressed air involved.

The UR-202 is wound by a rotor like any automatic wristwatch. The turbines regulate how fast and how easily the rotor turns.
