New NEC projector is network ready

NEC VT800NEC said today it is bringing to market a new network ready digital projector targeted at classrooms and boardrooms. It is called the VT800 and pricing is set at around $1,000.

The NEC VT800 offers up many features found useful in projectors, including an input/output panel with A/V switching, closed captioning and remote diagnostics for controlling this projector over a network. Technical aspects include 2,700 lumens, XGA native resolution of 1024 x 768 and up to 3,000 hours of lamp life.

NEC has also added something called HQV (Hollywood Quality Video) technology for reportedly improved video display as well as “Advanced AccuBlend” for more detailed images when using non-native resolutions. This projector should be available come April.
