Corsair offers up high performance 1000 watt power supply |
When the lights flicker and the circuit breaker is ready to flip, you know someone in the house is gaming on their 3-way NVIDIA SLI enabled PC. You can help keep the power on though by getting them one of these new Corsair HX1000W power supplies, priced at around $280.
The Corsair HX1000W is the first 1000 watt power supply to be certified by NVIDIA for its 3-way SLI technology. It offers up a twin-transformer, dual-rail design, DC-to-DC conversion and “high-quality” solid state capacitors. It also reportedly generates minimal heat during operation.
Other features of the HX1000W include a self-described 80% or more energy efficiency across a wide range of loading conditions and a thermally-controlled double ball-bearing 140mm fan. It should be available in March.
