The problem I see with most of these is that the screen size-to-seat distance just doesn’t compare to a proper full-size theatre, it would be like sitting right at the back which is not where most geeks sit – they sit near the front in the middle. If they are using a projector then I see no reason why people couldn’t sit much closer to the screen, assuming they’re using a proper HD projector there should be no problem with definition.

If I was going spend this much money on a home theatre, the first thing I would do is work on having the biggest screen possible, filling almost the entire wall. If this means having the wall re-plastered and painted using a special projector screen paint, it would be a small price to pay compared to all the money some of these guys have apparently wasted on props.

I really hope you realize that most of these pictures are fake. So called CG, computer graphics. You can easily see it because of the intense spectacular reflection and the supernatural lightning.

But their are indeed good ideas that suit my taste.

Those are pretty cool. That one with all the speakers seems like overkill since no movie can live up to the amount of surround that the system would offer. Pretty cool though.
