DnC PMP: for the company or private labels? |
A company by the name of DnC Multimedia is showcasing at CES a new portable media player design it says is cutting edge. It’s not clear however whether the company will market this product on its own or let others brand it instead.
DnC Multimedia said some of its previous devices in the past have been “private-labeled by such companies as Microsoft, Samsung, LG, and Napster.” It says this new PMP it is offering for view by “retailers and licensing partners” is a multi-function model which is thinner than similar products. Mentioned features include playback of MP3 audio, playback of MPEG video, GPS and 801.11 wireless connectivity.
DnC added future iterations of this product will include cellular phone functionality. There’s no specific word on who might private label this PMP, if anyone, and when it will show up on store shelves.

not sure if anyone reads this, nino? hows the pmp did you see it? i couldn’t make it to the convention center this year… anyway dnc multimedia seems to be getting their stuff out there the last few years that ive seen.
Joseph,
Noticed your statement: “anyway dnc multimedia seems to be getting their stuff out there the last few years that ive seen”.
I’m interested in this company’s products. Can you direct me to a site(s) for “last few yrs.” products. TIA.
figured I’d check back here because I never heard back from nino marchetti, I see he hasn’t wrote anyting,
But, Hello Harry! What I meant by the last few years is I’ve seen them on display at CES (I’ve gone 3 times). I’ve also heard both Panotech and Hitachi used in the same sentence with DnC Multimedia as well. I see they have a stock that trades over the counter but it is only a few cents. I’ve visited there website (http://www.dncmultimedia.com) but that isn’t much of a help either. Well all I can say is I will keep an eye on any progress I hear about. Thanks and take care,
Joe
Sorry…didn’t see the posts here. Anyhow, the only information I have on DNC is what is posted on its web site. A press release they put out at CES only had minimal information on this PMP.
Nino
Thanks guys. I’ll check out Panotech and Hitachi; could be good leads.
DnC Multimedia also has a GPS Navigational/Video Player device mentioned in their website. No details on that either re: release date or price.
