Samsung prepping new entry level digital cameras

Samsung S860Samsung extended its line of entry level digital cameras today by unveiling two new low cost models. The S760 and S860 are set to be priced at around $170 and $180 respectively.

The only real difference between these two cameras in regards to technical features is the megapixel designation - the S760 is 7.2 megapixels while the S860 is 8.1 megapixels. Both cameras otherwise offer the same functions, including a 3x optical zoom (35mm film equivalent: 38~105mm) Samsung SHD lens, digital image stabilization and face detection. Power is provided by two AA batteries.

Other features of the S860 and S760 include self portrait mode, on-screen function descriptions, 10 other scene modes, in-camera editing and video capture. Both are set to be available in January.
