Samsung extended its line of entry level digital cameras today by unveiling two new low cost models. The S760 and S860 are set to be priced at around $170 and $180 respectively.
The only real difference between these two cameras in regards to technical features is the megapixel designation – the S760 is 7.2 megapixels while the S860 is 8.1 megapixels. Both cameras otherwise offer the same functions, including a 3x optical zoom (35mm film equivalent: 38~105mm) Samsung SHD lens, digital image stabilization and face detection. Power is provided by two AA batteries.
Other features of the S860 and S760 include self portrait mode, on-screen function descriptions, 10 other scene modes, in-camera editing and video capture. Both are set to be available in January.
