Tis the season: Pac-Man Christmas tree

Pac-Man Christmas tree

I think I’ve just found my all-time dream Christmas tree. This has got to be the coolest tree ever made. I mean look at it, standing like some great monument to classic gaming, awaiting only spectators to behold it’s glory.

It seems that some geek or geeks in Spain have been very busy elves. They’ve re-created Pac-Man and his ghostly arch enemies in a giant light display. The “tree” is actually a fully-animated version of the classic coin-op arcade game. They rendered it across thousands of colored LEDs. Check out a video here. I don’t speak Spanish, so I have no idea what they are saying. But a Pac-Man tree is cool in any language. Notice the Christmas trees, stars, ribbons, and bells to be gobbled up by our Hero. You see fellow geeks, it really is a wonderful life.
