iPond portable aquarium and speaker

iPond fish tank has speaker and headphones jack, too small for fishAt first glance this little speaker/fish tank might look like an media player with a video of a fish on it, but if you watch long enough you’ll notice that the fish never leaves the screen, and it doesn’t shut off. The device is called the iPond (yet another clever ‘i’ name) and is being sold in Australia as a small portable aquarium complete with gravel on the bottom and a live fish. It also contains a speaker built into the bottom and a headphone jack to plug in your MP3 player, but some are complaining that this doesn’t leave a lot of room for the fish.

Inside the iPond is a Siamese fighting fish that might usually be sold in smaller tanks, but not quite this small. In fact the RSPCA in Australia is asking that the small portable tank be banned since it is not providing an adequate environment with it’s 2.5+ cups of water. They say the fish requires a minimum of closer to 3 gallons of water.

For the moment stores are selling the portable speaker system iPond for around $70 AUD (around $61 USD). There weren’t really an specs given for the speaker portion of the gadget but we would have to guess that the addition of the fish would at least significantly narrow the acceptable operating temperature of the device.

All i can say is im ashamed to call myself a human being, this is a sick world we live in!!!! Soon you’ll be able to buy the new iCage , where you buy a human in a clear box just big enough for him to sit in , its a coffee table , they will have no food or water and we’ll see how long he lives for, that sounds like a good idea doesn’t it.

That is the worst kind of animal cruelty!!! And please, don’t say, “I have an iPond with a Betta and it survived!” Because during the dry season, the betta SURVIVES in puddles, but it doesn’t live in such a small environment ALL YEAR. Another example: I could lock you up in your laundry room next to a construction site for the rest of your life, but feed you, and you’d SURVIVE…. but I know for a fact that you’d be happier traveling the world than being stuck in a maybe 13 sq. ft. room. Bettas don’t appreciate being in an iPond…. they are bored and, quite frankly, abused!!!You don’t even know if they are claustrophobic!!!

The story of what would happen to you if you were treated like a Betta in an iPond………

    1. You got kidnapped from your huge house.
    2. You got stuffed in a box where the most you can do is sit up.
    3. It’s hot and steamy in there, you can’t breathe very well.
    4. The box keeps vibrating… you can’t sleep or think!
    5. You are SO BORED!!!
    6. Everything put together.. cramped space, hot environment, vibrations….
    7. You die. And you didn’t live your full life.
