Pharos Drive 250 GPS unitToday Pharos launched a couple of new GPS navigation devices lacking it a lot of the more common features found in the latest GPS devices, but compensates for it with some very affordable pricing. The Drive GPS 150 and Drive GPS 250 are the latest from Pharos in their Drive GPS line of products differing almost only by size.

The Drive GPS 250 is the more expensive of the two with a retail price of $299.95 and features a 4.3 inch touch screen display, turn-by-turn voice prompted directions and a 1GB SD card pre-loaded with North America maps from NAVTEQ. The device also boasts a 7-hour run time off of a single charge.

The Drive GPS 150 has the same features but comes in a slightly smaller package measuring 3.94” X 3.31” X 0.95” with a 3.94 inch screen and a pedestrian mode to get directions tailored to traveling on foot. The smaller frame saves takes off an impressive $100 making this device retail for just $199.95.

Both the Drive GPS 150 and 250 run on Winows CE and have a Freescale MX21 266MHz 32bit microprocessor with 64MB of internal RAM. Both also use a SiRFStarIII, 20-channel GPS receiver to pinpoint your current location as you travel. Pharos says both new models will be hitting shelves in the next few weeks.
