V-MODA VIBE DuoV-MODA, a “music lifestyle” brand out of Hollywood, is out today with a new iPhone targeted headset. The VIBE Duo is priced at around $100 and should be available now.

The V-MODA VIBE Duo is designed to be part of a line of “luxury, high-fashion modaphones.” Good looks and swank marketing aside these headphones do seem to offer a good deal of iPhone functionality. You’ve got built-in control-playback functionality so you can take a call via a microphone with a call button, finish the call and return to your music via a hands-free experience. There are also three-sizes of soft silicon fittings to provide a more cozy fit.

“With the addition of the control button to the VIBE Duo, V-MODA has developed the ultimate accessory for the Apple iPhone,” said Val Kolton, founder and CEO of V-MODA. “We understand the need for an earphone that will maximize all the best features of the iPhone, and we’re excited to bring the new VIBE Duo to the table. It’s what many Apple iPhone consumers have been asking us for.”

I’ve just received mine via UPS today. These things are pretty awesome. The sound quality is far superior to the Apple earphones (duh.) I’ve heard that they need a period of breaking in or burning in and I’ll pass final judgement on them after that happens.

The remote works just the same as the one from Apple. But what I cannot understand is how v-moda has a remote/mic that is almost 4 times as bulky as Apple (and thus heavy!) Not that it’s a huge deal but, come on. Callers have not noticed a difference in my call quality, so that’s a good sign (but then I haven’t tested it when the Santa Ana winds kick up here in Los Angeles.)

The cord DOES NOT TANGLE!!!! Which is totally worth it in my opinion. And the ear pieces do block out almost all of the external noise.

So, I have to say, I’m quite pleased with them.

Hey Kyle, where did you buy yours from? I dont think apple online store sells the new version (button). I bought a pair 2 days ago and got it without the button..so i returned it today
