Nintendo announces the WiiFit release date and price for JapanEarlier today at Nintendo’s Fall Conference the company announced a release date and price for their new WiiFit balance board game in Japan’s market. The WiiFit game will go on sale December 1 for 8,800 Yen, or about $75 which might seem a little bit on the steep side but it does come bundled with the balance board. Similar games like Guitar Hero that come with the guitar accessory are usually priced similar or more. There was no announcement for a U.S. release of the WiiFit game yet but you can bet that it will be launched in the states before the holiday season, likely for a similar price.

There’s a good chance this new WiiFit board will be a big hit this season just by all of the publicity the Wii has already gotten through the fun-induced exercise in its games, especially from more of the non-traditional gamers the Wii seems to draw in. We just ask that you be careful when climbing onto this WiiFit board this holiday season to avoid a similar comedy of accidents and injuries that happened with the Wii was launched last year.

Is there any word on a europe release? This is what the wii is great at. The best game for the wii so far is the wii sports that was free with it. It gets you jumping and moving around like a spanner, and thats what you want, that the best laugh.

We haven’t seen anything on a Europe release yet, but I don’t know why Nintendo wouldn’t have it out there before the holidays as well.
