NEC upgrades professional plasma displays

Posted in NEC, Plasma by Nino Marchetti on October 9th, 2007

NEC PlasmaSync Professional SeriesNEC today debuted a new line of professional level plasma displays for “corporate installations, including government agencies and digital signage applications.” (we imagine you could use them at home as well) The new PlasmaSync Professional Series is available in 42 to 60-inch models and priced between $2,500 and $6,000 approximately.

The NEC PlasmaSync Professional Series offer resolution up to 1366 x 768 and have an input panel with DVI with HDCP inputs as well as RS-232 input and output control. They also offer VESA standard hole patterns for easier mounting and can convert non-native resolution to the resolution of the display.

The really cool thing about this series though is that is has a video tiling capability, meaning multiple displays can be utilized for 5×5 wall matrices or aligned for vertical or panoramic design. In this fashion you could probably rig one hell of a video game screen. All models are available now.

I had this lcd for a week before my return priviledges expires. I must admit that this lcd had all features and more I was looking for, above all other LCD available around. It is comparable to PANASONIC industrial Plasma dislpays as far as contrast ratio is concern. Although it’s an LCD, NEC didn’t satisfy me for one thing> that is when watching DVD movies. I have no idea watching it through DVD movies didn’t quite impress me with picture quality in this LCD. I had done all tweaking and adjustments but the picture tone color is out of focus. However, the performance coming from my HDTV tuner is superb like I said, even better than PLASMA. Along with the PC signal.
