Nintendo offering free Wii remote jackets to improve grip on the controllerIt looks like Nintendo is trying hard to avoid a repeat of Wii remote control injuries like it had last fall and has now started to ship a Wii Remote Jacket accessory with every new Wii remote purchased.

The new clear silicone sleeve fits over the remote control and aside from just giving you a better grip it also gives any unintended targets of a flying Wii-motes a fighting chance with it’s padded covering. This is the third addition/modification Nintendo has made to the safety features of the Wii remote after beefing up the straps and adding a clip.

If you’re one of the many that already own a Wii and would like to get yourself one of these new Wii Remote Jackets you can go to the Jacket Accessory Offer page and submit a request online or call Nintendo at 1-866-431-8367.
