LG BH200LG has unveiled the second generation of its dual format HD disc player, letting one enjoy both Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD. The LG Super Blu Player (BH200) is priced at around $1,000 and should be available in October.

The LG BH200 supports HDi Web-connected interactivity available for HD DVDs and also includes BD-Java interactivity. It can output video up to 1080p, including upscaling of standard DVD to this resolution. It also supports a wide variety of audio formats, including MPEG-2, VC-1, H.264 video, MPEG1/2 audio, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital+, DTS and DTS-HD.

You also get HDMI 1.3 out and an Ethernet port, among other features. Suffice to say the BH200 is loaded and should satisfy the needs of those needing a dual format next generation DVD player - at least until one of the two formats dies out.
