Kensington Launches SlimBlade Mobile Peripherals

Kensington SlimBlade Lifestyle peripherals include slim mouse and keyboard for use with notebooks on the goKensington has announced the release of a new line of low-profile notebook peripherals today, targeting those on that are on the go and desire mice and keyboards that pack well and look good. The new line from the company called SlimBlade rolled out with 5 new mice and a configurable Media Notebook set, all having a slim profile and smooth appearance.

The SlimBlade Presenter mouse is a wireless laser tracking mouse and comes in either Ice Blue or Deep Blue. It features a battery level indicator, 4-way scrolling, auto power savings and a backlight to let you know when you are ready with your presentation. The Presenter retails for $49.99

The SlimBlade Media mouse carries the same thin profile of the other SlimBlade devices, is wireless and features a small scroll-ball on top in place of a scroll wheel supporting 360 degree navigation. It includes a navigation pad on the controller as well which lets you control your media playback with volume, play, pause and moving forward or back in tracks. It also has the battery life indicator and auto-off feature and boasts a 6 month batter life, retailing for $59.99.

The SlimBlade Presenter Media Mouse combines the Media Mouse with a laser pointer, giving it an extra feature well suited for presentations. It also houses the scroll ball for 360 degree scrolling, navigation pad, battery life indicator and is wireless up to 30 feet away. The Presenter Media Mouse goes for $79.99.

The SlimBlade TrackBall mouse combines probably the handiest features for mousing on the go, and brings the highest price. It’s got the same slim frame but also features a “trackball mode” when in cramped spaces like an airplane seat. When their isn’t enough room to move the mouse around the 360 degree scrolling ball can be switched to be used as a trackball instead, allowing users to move the cursor around the screen while the mouse stays still. The SlimBlade Trackball retails for $99.99.

Lastly, Kensington launched the SlimBlade Media Notebook Set which consists of a slim laser mouse with a scroll ball, a keyboard and a 10-key keypad. The keypad connects via magnets to either side of the keyboard allowing a little bit of configuration. Both the keyboard and mouse are wireless and connect through the same micro USB receiver, too. For another $20 you can add in a media remote control as well. The Media Notebook set runs $129.99.
