Colibri lighter ignites by breaking the beam |
This lighter isn’t really new technology but I ran across it today and thought it was pretty cool, and I don’t even have any real need for a lighter. If I did need a lighter however, I think this might be the ticket.
No longer do you have to flick your lighter manually and run the risk of wearing out or worse yet, damaging those precious gaming thumbs. This lighter from Colibri has a photoelectric sensor beam incorporated into the lighter that signals the flames ignition. When you flip open the lid a visible red beam appears, then by simply breaking the light beam with your finger the lighter automatically ignites. The lighter flame runs on butane that can be replaced and the ignition is battery powered.
Like many of the coolest conveniences in gadgets, this lighter is not relatively cheap. It comes in colors of Gunmetal, Pearl, Silver or Gold and retails for around $100. When you buy the Beam Sensor lighter it comes with a protective pouch and a couple of extra batteries.
