Altec Lansing puts bar speaker below monitor

Altec Lansing FX3020 SoundBarI bet here’s a question you’ve always pondered - what should I do with that unused area beneath my flat panel monitor? Stick pencils there? Altec Lansing is betting it has a more interesting option to fill that space - the new FX3020 SoundBar Speaker System, priced at around $100 and available in October.

The FX3020 SoundBar Speaker System is rectangular, one piece and low profile so it fits nicely underneath your monitor. The drivers are “precision-angled” and there’s also sound widening technology which is supposed to give you that full room sound experience. Throw in some bass technology, a single control knob and a side-positioned auxiliary input and you are ready to party.

You have to admit this is nice thinking on Altec’s part to use that wasted space to put in what seems to be a decent stereo speaker system. Just don’t assume it’s waterproof like this flat panel TV - you might not like the end results.
