Slingbox HD rear view showing no need for dongle with component videoTG Daily found this newer version of the Slingbox Pro from Sling Media getting its approval on the FCC web site. The new device which could end up being the “Slingbox HD” shows a new look (hopefully this isn’t final or there will be some options) and most significantly has built-in component video inputs which rids us of the need for the HD dongle needed with the current Pro model.

In a recent Revision3 interview with Sling Media’s CEO, the Slingbox HD name came out after a little prying along with a release date of January, (not specific on the year). Obviously we’re still a little bit early for complete specs and pricing but if Sling Media wants to get this out the door by the beginning of next year we should expect to hear more info in the not-to-distant future.
