New Quad Core laptop melts gamers’ wallets

XtremeNotebooks 917VXtremeNotebooks has gone to the extreme indeed by being one of the first to pack the new Intel Core 2 Quad processor into a laptop. Power up and get on board for this gaming rig ride on your lap – the Xtreme 917V is raising anchor with a base price of around $3,360.

The XtremeNotebooks 917V draws its power from an Intel Q6600 (2.4Ghz x 4) Quad Core CPU. To really get the benefits of this gaming machine on steroids though you’ll have to jack up the other specs (and price), which are somewhat minimal at 512MB of RAM, a 60GB hard drive and a single NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX card with 512MB of memory.

Playing with the configuring tool at XtremeNotebooks for the 917V reveals that if you want this machine to blaze at its best you’ll have to layout, as Sci Fi Tech found, between $9,000 and $10,000. Damn!
