MediaMax HD server does HD DVD, Blu-ray Disc |
Here’s what looks to be a hearty new media server which can serve up HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc in multiple rooms. The MediaMax HD, constructed by Axonix, runs between $3,500 and $6,000 depending upon configuration.
The MediaMax HD offers the ability to have playback of media stored on its MediaServer component including: HD and SD DVD movies, CD, MP3 and WAV music, photos and downloaded movies and music. This media can be played across a network simultaneously in any room. Axonix says its media server is the first to play via cover art or metadata both next generation optical disc formats.
There’s a whole wide array of other features with this setup, which requires the separate purchase of media players for HD DVD or Blu-ray Disc. That could get quite pricey but if you’ve already laid down the cash for one you probably aren’t hurting too much in the back pocket and can pick up the other.
