Klipsch iFi - Spendy Speakers for your iPod

Posted in Speakers, iPhone Accessories by Darrin Olson on August 6th, 2007

Klipsch iFi Speakers for your iPodThere are quite a few accessory speakers systems for the Apple iPod, but few have the dock and speakers packaged together for this kind of price, and we’re not talking real cheap. This $449.99 iFi speaker system from Klipsch comes with a docking station with adapters for your iPod, a powered subwoofer, two satellite speakers and an RF remote control that can run the system and your iPod from just about anywhere in your house.

The company says the iFi works with most iPods using the adapters, including the iPod mini, iPod Nano, and iPod video. The earlier iPods and first gen Shuffle can’t dock but still can connect through an audio port. The system comes with one remote but can work with up to six if you want one for each room or just keep misplacing them.

The iFi speaker system puts out 200 watts with a built-in Class D amplifier and the satellite speakers each have a 4-inch polypropylene woofer and 3/4-inch polycarbonate tweeter. The subwoofer is a single 8″ front firing driver with rear slot port.

If you’re looking to get some serious sound from your iPod and pretty much from nothing else then you probably won’t feel too bad dropping this kind of cash on the iFi.
