Beatles Yellow Submarine iPod

Beatles Yellow Submarine iPodNow that the the dust is settling a little bit from the iPhone launch it looks like it’s time to ramp up the rumor mills again around the the Beatles and the potential of a special, limited edition version of the Apple iPod. Pictured here is a mocked up version of what a Beatles Yellow Submarine iPod just might look like from TechDigest. It sports simply a bright yellow-submarine color and comes pre-loaded with every Beatles album ever made.

This special edition iPod has been rumored for quite a while now and we really like the idea (and TechDigest’s rendition). The talk is that this yellow iPod would be launched at the same time that the Beatles songs go on sale through iTunes. It also potentially could be available for only a month while iTunes has the Beatles albums and it’s competition does not. Would you stand in line for this one?

I realize that The Beatles have have a wide fan base from young children to seniors. Many younger fans will buy the “Yellow Submarine” Ipod so to have the complete catalog on MP3. However, I strongly believe that the largest Beatles fan base are the older generation that are anxiously awaiting the newly remstered Beatles CD’s with superior sound quality to the original 1987 CD releases.

I’m a huge Beatles fan that already owns the entire Beatles catalogue on CD. I am not waiting for remastered CDs because the old CDs sound great!!!!! The new remastered Beatles CDs will NOT sound better, they will sound worse. Modern remastering is absolutely atrocious. Just listen to the Yellow Submarine Songtrack which is compressed to the point that there is no subtlety to the music. New is NOT always better. Save your money people.

If there is a special edition Beatles ipod released I will certainly be buying it, maybe not a Yellow Submarine one, but I can envisage a whole rang of Beatles ipods being brought out with different themes, to have all the Beatles albums, remastered on one ipod would be too great to miss out on. I can honestly see myself buying the CD re-packages also, for the new booklets etc. Exciting times to come for the greatest music catalogue of all time!
