Sling Media teams up with NHL to Clip+Sling

Sling Media and NHL team up to share video clips through the SlingboxSling Media has announced an agreement with the National Hockey League to allow owners of the Slingbox to record and share video clips of NHL games through their Clip+Sling technology.

When the service launches, new and current Slingbox owners alike will be able to use the SlingPlayer software to create live and recorded content clips and publish them to a Sling Media destination site to share. Although only owners actual of a Slingbox will be able to create and publish the clips they will be available to anyone for access and view. The NHL will be making their own clips to share on the site as well.

Keith Ritter, president of NHL Interactive CyberEnterprises, stated that NHL content shard through the Clip+Sling technology is a “natural fit”, since NHL fans are “the most tech-savvy fans of all major professional sports”.

The Clip+Sling technology from Sling Media is current in a private beta testing stage, but you can apply to be in a broader public beta scheduled for later this summer.
