Sidekick Slide and Sidekick 4 renderings reported |
The Boy Genius Report is showing off a couple new possible versions to the popular Sidekick mobile device offered through T-Mobile. The images are merely renderings of what the devices might look like, but they are interesting nonetheless.
One is a slightly thinner looking model simply labeled ‘Sidekick’ which could possibly turn out to be a successor to the Sidekick 3 aptly named the Sidekick 4. The other is labeled the ‘Sidekick Slide’ and has a distinctive Motorola logo next to the screen, referred to as the Sidekick RAZR by BoyGenius.
Later on Gizmodo received some more details through a tipster on the Motorola labeled version claiming it is the Motorola Q700, or otherwise called the ‘Zante’. This device would be an interim device until the real Sidekick 4 launched.
The Zante is expected to launch around mid September and have a Danger 4.0 OS, MMS suppport, a USB charger, voice dialing, a MicroSD slot and round keyboard keys along with a similar 1.3 megapixel camera and 100/30 SMS messaging limitations as the current Sidekicks.

The sidekick4 it looks really good but what can it do? The sidekicks really just need a video recorder and maybe the ablity to play movies or shows. But I have a sidekick rite now and if u ask me they do have some malfuntions sometimes and it can get really difficult cause the sidekicks will lose everything and it takes a while to get them back but other then that the sidekicks are nice o yeah and they need to improve in the camera area!.
okay….i’m planning on getting a sidekick. but i heard someone say it was coming out in July 2007, which is next month. so they told me to wait. they heard this from a guy who works at the t-mobile place. and this says something about september, which is a long way off. and i really really want a sidekick. tomorrow i’m going over to the t-mobile place to get a sidekick 3. i’ll ask him about the sidekick 4 and report back. i don’t know if that’s any help. lol.

Sidekick 3 is being relaunched this week by T-Mobile. It was previously withdrawn due to poor sales.
The proto type is floating around at the moment and the actual Sidekick 4 should be avialble by Xmas 2007
I hope the sk4 has a video camera, keys that dont peel, a speaker phone that is actually loud enough to call it a speaker phone, a loud enough ring volume, good receiver reception that doesnt echo, i really dont care about blue tooth, but for those that do, i hope the blue tooth actually works good enough that you dont have to have the whole phone close to your head for it to work…i hope it has a camera thats not grainy, and i hope it doesnt have an mp3 player because thats lame. I hope it has faster web browsing. And I hope you dont have to pay for all of your apps again, unless the new app is so hot that its worth the sacrifice!
i also hope that tmobile unlocks the phone so that you can download third party ringers and third party games..they need to stop being so greedy!
I love the flip screen so that should stay. I dont mind sliding though..but if it slides the phone should be way thinner!
I really, really love my sidekick! However like many new “must have” gadgets, you get today, and tomorrow they announce a “new improved” or limited edition. What I would like is if they do launch anything such as SK4 or SK slide, that they improve on the many flaws this wonderful product has.
if this is the real deal then I can’t wait…I love my sidekick but it needs a lot of improving…missed incoming calls, problems makin outgoing calls, camcorder, better camera, faster browser, use mp3 songs as ringers, change font & color on aim, make chatrooms…that’s basically all I can think of right now =/…
well i’m planning on getting a sidekick but whats the point of the sidekick 4 is “coming out”. i have used the previous sidekicks before and thought they were very nice, but whats a nice phone if it doesnt have a good camera or no video camera. Why pay 300 for something that doesnt work good when you can pay less the price and have a better quality phone?

It look hot!! think about it .. i got sk3 and when i drop it . it break easy like camera don’t work or the keyboard but sk4 must b very sensitive bcuz its so thin and you gonna have a lot problem with that. i rather let people buy it and see how it goes for couple month then ill buy it…
sk4 should juss have sum sort of windows operations like the tmobile dash and wing..wifi…better bluetooth unlock the ringtones so we can b able 2 make our own unlike the crappy ones tmobile gives…louder speaker and clearer sound and upgrade on the sidekick features put sumthing the iphone doesnt have….
i like the sidekick 4 A LOT better then the slider, the slider sucks & everyone likes the sidekick 4 razr x a lot better. or atleast they have been telling me. if the sidekick 4 comes out i am SOOOO buying it, & a lot of people are too, but if the slider comes out i am SOOO NOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT buying it.
the slider pretty much ruins the whole point of the sidekick. the sidekick is know for the swivel screen. i give the sidekick 4 two thumbs up & the sidekick slider two thumbs down.
I spoke to 2 “tier 2″ CS reps at T-Mobile a few days ago and they gave me the D/L on the SK4. It is supposed to have GPS mapping in the form of a downloadable program that will also be available for the SK3. It will be thinner and have a higher resolution “touchscreen”. It will also have wi-fi…very cool. In addition it will have the capability to listen to the MP3 player via bluetooth…extremly cool. Lets just hope they know what they were taking about.

I had the sidekick 2 then upgraded to the sidekick 3 then it broke so I got the sidekick id now I want the sidekick 4! When does it come out?

I have the D wade sidekick3 and i love it. im planning on getting the sidekick4 when it comes out.
I think the sidekick3 is relly cool I have one and I like it . It really help if it had a better camera. Cause other phones have a better one. I also don’t like the color of it I wish it had more colors to pick like the lg choclate from verizon.
i have a sidekick 3 for almost 1 year already and it been working sooo welll for me but now that i heard that sidekick 4 is coming out on december 2007 im going to buy it and also its sooo much better than the sidekick slide…..the sidekick slide is fatter than all of the other sidekicks….sooo yeah i think its tooo uncomfortable having a cell phone tooo fat or wide or big……

hey! i work for tmobile and we just learned about some information on sk shuriken like last week and they said tmobile is coming out with it in October (YAY FINALLY I KNOW) and they said that it is going to be october 16 or 17 but now they don’t know. lol. BUT they will come out with in October for sure NO LIE! the shuriken is NOT a slider sk it flips up like they other ones. also the shuriken sk FINALLY has mms which is picture messaging! yay again for sidekicks! and for you myspace fans it has a software where you can login 24/7 and edit for stuff. the shuriken sk is also very thin. so parents and everyone please (PAY ATTENTION) WARNING: IF YOU BUY THE SK SHURIKEN PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BUY INSURANCE FOR THE PHONE! like i said this sk is very thin and if you drop it then it is surely your lost! I ADVISE YOU TO PUT A SCREEN PROTECTOR ALSO! AND LEAVE IT THE CARRYING CASE! so yeah there is some information about it to you guys and gals. also tmobile think it will run about $300-$600 but as of right now we are really not sure. another thing i wanted to put out there is that SIDEKICKS CAN’T BE UNLOCK so i am asking nice-ly to stop calling in to unlock it. and as for the motorola zante slide or whatever as of right now tmobile isn’t carrying it or i don’t really know if we are but we know that it can be UNLOCK and be used under tmobile service. if you don’t have great/good service in your area then i also advise you NOT to get the sidekick please i just want to let you know before hand so you won’t waste your money or time. well that is all the information i have for right now so i will check back and tell you guys and gals if i have anymore!

I love the slide screen so that should stay. I dont mind flipping though..but if it slides the phone should be way thinner! also yall need to come out with some hot colors … not those dull gray and black make it colorfull!!! duecezz
I think the sidekick 3 is a good fone but the sidekick 4 shuld hav a betta camera and u shuld be able to go on youtube and watch videos and a touch screen wouldn’t hurt either..they need to improve on reception because the reception for the sidekick 3 iz not the best..
Hello everyone. I am new here, but I just wanted to see what the TMobile Sidekick LX was about and came across this website. I found out all the information I needed through a Tmobile Customer Care Manager. The new Sidekick LX will be available at 9:00pm pacific time on October 17th. The phones at that time will only be available for current TMobile customers, it will not be available for new customers until October 24th. Per TMobile there is a section on their website to pre-register for the cellphone. But it is only to pre-register to receive notification when it becomes available, not pre-registering for the cellphone itself. The Sidekick Slider will be available on Nov. 7th, but because I wasn’t interested in that particular device I didn’t ask any additional questions.
Hope this helps everyone, because my alarm clock is already set for 12am Oct. 17th.

I don’t know, from another website, they showed that it would be $499 without a contract and that was found out, because TMobile slipped giving the price when initially announcing the Sidekick LX. I don’t know how much it will be with a contract or for current customers upgrading.
i think if i get a sidekick4 it well be with me my whole life. i would not leave it any were. i wish to get a sidekick4 as soon as
