Samsung SGH-E840 is the thinnest slider phoneSamsung SGH-E840 thin slider sideviewToday Samsung announced some new super-stylish phones at the CommunicAsia expo in Singapore, one of which they tout as the thinnest slider style mobile phone yet. The Samsung SGH-E840 is a mere .42″ thin and has a mirrored, tempered glass face to give it a smooth and sexy look. It also comes in a number of colors to choose from like Ice Silver, Candy Pink, Topaz Gold or Noble Blue.

The SGH-E840 also debuts some “touch sensitive keys” which work unlike normal normal keypad buttons, but more like the touch sensitive mouse trackpad on notebooks. This does make it a little more sensitive and easy to press, but probably impossible to dial without looking and we wonder how easy it will be to mis-key the numbers.

Samsung was still able to pack some of the more standard mobile phone features into this anorexic slider, including a 2-megapixel camera with MPEG-4 video capture and playback, a microSD slot in addition to the 70MB of internal available memory, and support for music playback of AAC, MP3, and WMA audio is supported. It even has an FM radio tuner, a “special” web browser and incorporates Bang & Olufsen’s IcePower.
