LG FLATRON Wide Format M228WA Monitor TVLG seems to think they have found the magical formula in the form of a 22-inch widescreen display which can serve as both home television and computer monitor. Enter the mighty LG Flatron Wide Format M228WA.

What you say? Why is this the replacement for your big screen plasma? Well, we weren’t exactly saying it was. Rather the LG M228WA, with its 1680 x 1050 viewing resolution and 170-degree viewing angles, will serve as a nice LCD display for television when you tire of crunching numbers in Excel. The monitor, optimized to work with Windows Vista, has a slim and light design which hides built-in stereo speakers, 16:10 aspect ratio, a “digital fine” contrast ratio of 3000:1, 2ms response time and automatic detection and switching for dual monitor support.

This is all on top of a USB input interface for multi-screen support and support for video formats ranging from HDMI on down. We think this will be a definite monitor to look for when it hits store shelves.
