Kodak EasyShare Z1275 12 Megapixel Shooter |
Kodak pushes on the megapixel race a little further with a new 12, yes, 12 megapixel digital camera called the EasyShare Z1275.
In addition to the mega-megapixel’s, this camera has 5x Schneider-Kreuznach Variogo optical zoom, a 2.5 inch LCD viewer and saves images to either a Memory Stick Duo or SD card. You may also notice the little “HD” label on the front, which is indicative of the MPEG4 video recording this camera can do at a resolution of 1280 x 720.
You can get your hands on this 12 megapixel shooter for a mere $249, but in order to keep that low price with all those megapixels Kodak had to forfeit some other somewhat common features like any kind of viewfinder other than the LCD screen. You’ll have to keep a steady hand since there is no type of image stabilization. You’ll have to wait until August since the EasyShare Z1275 isn’t expected to start shipping until then.

This camera DOES have digital image stabilization.
Thanks, MrNobody.
Our original source had image stab. listed as a non-included feature but Kodak site is listing it as having a digital image stabilizer.
I may be getting this camera? seems very nice for 250 any opinions
Have this camera in my hands right now — definitely HAS Image stabilization. So far, the camera is OUTSTANDING!! Definitely a little cheap looking on the outside, but the photos and videos are like nothing I’ve ever seen! Well worth it for the price so far!!
…. yea; all I can say is I’m disappointed. For $250; not bad… but i have a high definition LCD monitor with true color… I zoom in to full size on the pictures… and I am disappointed. they are NOT as clear as I would have hoped coming from a 12 megapixel camera. Yea; the price got me excited, as well as the name… but if you are any kind of aspiring photographer or starting pro… DON’T get this to see if you want to try it. For just a normal person, point-shoot type camera? yea; it’s great… I just need greater clarity in my pictures; and don’t quite have the funds for a SLR yet
Just recieved this z1275 camera for Christmas. It seems to be locking up for no apparent reason. Took about 25 shots, some were good, some were not. Then when I would power it on, it would immediately power itself down. I off loaded the internal memory and reformated it. Took a couple of pictures and it would immediately power itself off. Tried new batteries twice, with the same power on and immediately power off problem again. Is this a known problem with this camera?
im saving up for a camera and was looking at this one at argos its £199 and i fort that was good for the 12MP but how is the zoom and the video ? any one who has one plz reply x thx
The “immediate power off” problem seems to be a known problem. Reviews on amazon show several users with the same problem. I have the same problem with my camera. The camera powered off with the lens in the extended position and will not power back on despite new batteries.
Even I had the this issue(immediate power off). The camera powered off with the lens in the extended position. Not able to powen on
tried with new batteries .. No Use
For me, this camera kicks butt. I run Energizer rechargables in it and unlike my old HP 3.2 Megapixel, I can go days without switching batteries. Some pictures from it are on my blog View Through My Lens. If you go to the beginning of the blog you’ll see the old camera pictures and then to the newer pictures the last three months.
