DreamVision DreamBee Projector |
With all the 1080p talk going on with the HD DVD and Blu-ray disc format war it’s nice to see more companies acknowledging through their products that no matter what there is going to be a bigger need for some Hi-Def output. The DreamVision DreamBee projector uses a less costly D-ILA technology as apposed to the popular DLP to produce a full 1080p projected picture that will take full advantage of those Hi-Def discs and players regardless of which format you go with.
The DreamBee doesn’t really come all that cheap, however. DreamVision produces two models, the DreamBee and the DreamBee Pro which retail for £6,999 ($13,961) and £9,500 ($18,950), respectively. The projector models are chocked full of technology and features as you might expect for that kind of cash, including a 3-chip D-ILA light engine, 20,000 to 1 contrast ration, TrueMotionHD, RS-232C home automation integration and multiple color presets. It also has HDMI ports along with composite, component and S-video input.
The DreamBee Pro adds on an external processor, more video inputs and some video and audio outputs. Both models come in glossy colors of midnight, coconut, blue sky, hibiscus and sunflower (shown here). The case design is not half bad either and could add some style to the ceiling of just about any theater room.
