Blue Raven Mediamate 7080 media player and portable DVR with 7″ screenBlue Raven and unveiled a new portable media player featuring a 7″ display and built-in, timed recording capabilities making it a handy pocket-sized DVR. The Mediamate 7080 is one of two new 7000 series portable media players released today by the company, differing only in capacity.

It has an 80GB internal HDD to record up to 100 hours of DVD-quality video, and can do so direct into the device. By simply connecting the MediaMate directly to your media source such as a TV or DVD player with some AV cables it can record without any type of docking device. With the timer you can then set the time that you want to recording to stop and start. The media player can also record voice, play music and view photos.

It houses has a multi-card reader for SD, MMC, and Memory Stick, and sports wireless remote control as well. You can also connect it to a computer via USB for file transfers, listen with headphones or the built-in speakers, and watch high def video output on your TV scaled up to 1080i.

The MediaMate 7080 is priced at $429 with its 40GB sibling at $379.
