I/OMagic Unveils 250GB Portable GigaBank 2.5

I/OMagic Gigabank 2.5 portable 250GB driveI/OMagic is known for data storage products and has recently expanded its line of external hard drives to include a 250GB model of their 2.5″ portable hard disks. The large capacity, pocket-sized drives are enclosed in a sharp looking aluminum frame and then covered in a black leather carrying case. The GigaBank 2.5 portable drive connects via USB 2.0 (USB 1.1 compatible) and is powered entirely through the USB connection requiring no additional power source. The drives have a transfer rate of up to 480MB per second and run plug-and-play with any post-Windows 98 machine.

“The continual growth of digital technology increases the need to carry large quantities of photos, music, video, or documents with you wherever you go,” said Tony Shahbaz, president of I/OMagic in the press release. “The new high capacity small form factor 160GB 200GB 250GB ‘Data To Go’ drives offer convenient, cost-effective additional storage space for your existing computer that fits comfortably in your pocket.”

These ‘Data To Go’ drives from I/OMagic are expected to hit shelves soon with the 250GB model retailing for $189.99
