T-Mobile Wing Released |
Today T-Mobile and HTC announced the unveiling of the T-Mobile Wing, available immediately through T-Mobile stores and online.
The Wing is the younger, thinner and improved version of the T-Mobile MDA which was launched in February of last year. It’s running Windows Mobile 6 Pro Edition taking advantage of the new application features from Microsoft, has a 2 megapixel camera, quad-band EDGE for data, Bluetooth, WiFi, a microSD memory expansion slot, QVGA 2.8 inch touchscreen display and a full QWERTY keyboard. The new mobile device also features Push email, myFaves, and the ability to capture and playback video. It’s dimensions are 2.3 x 4.3 x 0.7 inches (0.2 inches thinner than its predecessor) and it weighs in at 6.0 ounces. The battery promises to deliver as much as 5 hours of talk time or a little over 8 days of standby.
The basic slide-out design of the Wing is similar to the MDA exposing the keyboard and is great for texting long messages, but it is a slight pain to have to slide out the keyboard with these types of phones and wait for the screen to switch to landscape. The upgrades include a slimmer design, a higher resolution camera, spring assisted slide-out and an upgrade to the Bluetooth connectivity.
The HTC manufactured T-Mobile Wing is available for purchase for just under $300 with a two year contract through T-Mobile.
