Creative Live! Cam Optia AF webcamCreative is busting out a new Web cam which looks pretty cool and offers a number of innovative features to give it more than just a pretty face. The Creative Live! Cam Optia AF should be available now for around $130 at various retail outlets.

The Creative Live! Cam Optia AF’s most interesting features are its auto-focusing technology and plug and play functionality. The auto-focusing part of the Optia AF picks the best setting for the image in its 2.0-megapixel sensor, with a special emphasis on keeping your face in sharper focus.

The plug and play component, according to Creative, lets you connect the Web cam to a computer’s USB port without needing to install a driver. The Optia AF has a multi-axis swivel which can rotate at a viewing angle of up to 270 degrees and also an embedded sensor to keep your pretty mug upright so you don’t look silly in your YouTube videos.

Let’s see – what else can we say about Creative’s new Web cam? It mounts on a laptop or desktop computer monitor, though not as nicely for the former as the Microsoft LifeCam NX-6000. Built-in microphones with background noise cancellation let you have a clearer voice online. You even get special software with which you can do things like add emotions to your scratchy voice or special effects like wigs to your bald, on-screen head.
