Nokia N95 Now Out |
We first gave you a heads up last September about Nokia’s new revolutionary design for the N95 handheld multimedia computer/phone; now the company has informed us that it’s begun to ship to European, Asian and Middle Eastern stores and will roll out everywhere else in about two weeks time. The 22 mm thickness design of the N95 is different in that it slides open two different ways depending on what you want to do with it. One direction reveals the keys for making a call; slide the other direction and you get another set of keys for all your computer functions.
It’s also got a ton of cool features including GPS, Nokia Maps software good for 150 different countries, a 5.0 megapixel camera (2592 x 1944, 10x zoom), support for HSDPA, WLAN, EDGE and WCDMA networks, built-in stereo speaks and high-speed WiF, voice recorder/commands/dialing and a hands-free speaker option plus a slick user interface too built on the Symbian OS. On the back is a 2.6-inch QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) TFT that can display up to 16 million colors. An ambient light detector adjusts the brightness of the display. Slipping between applications is a breeze too, so you can move from watching a video that you just took on the unit to finding a map route with just a slide of the panel. It’s even got built-in stereo FM receiver too, just in case you run out of songs to play from your MP3 on it.
This is looking to be one of the better PDA/phones available in 2007 so far, so definitely check it out when it arrives in your neighborhood.
