Anyway, this thing was huge, and pecking away at a tree in the woods, there is a house right by it too, maybe I can set up a camera without looking like a weirdo? LoL I have photo's of the damage but the bird is fast,he knows how to stay elusive, and that's a good thing. Ok,

They only thrive in tupelo gum swamps. We have many pileateds which so many people mistake for an ivory-bill. The ivory-bill also makes a sound that the pileated doesn't make.
