Olympus 770 SW shockproof, waterproof digital cameraFor extreme sport enthusiasts or those of you who just fall down a lot and are looking for a quality digital camera that will last you more than one day of action; Olympus may have just the ticket.

The 7.1 megapixel Olympus Mju 770 SW digital camera is one tough camera, especially for its class. The 770 SW is shock proof for drops of up to 1.5 meters and can support crushing pressure of up to 100 kg which should make sitting on it in your back pocket OK. The tough camera is also waterproof on its own for depths up to 10 meters, not to mention making the occasional rain or puddle a non-event. An optional waterproof case can bring that depth down to 40 meters. In addition, it can still operate in temperatures down to -10 degrees C.

For underwater use, four of the eleven scene modes are specifically designed for underwater shots. An on screen water pressure gauge keeps you informed of your depth and a special water repellent lens coating helps keep your photos clear in wet conditions.

The extreme camera also has sensors to detect low light conditions and improve photo quality, as well as a One-Touch light that can be used as a little flash light to identify items dark or shadowed areas.

The Olympus Mju 770 SW is expected to be available in March of this year priced at a little under $600 USD.
