Samsung Launches 13.8mm HSDPA Slider |
Samsung has announced the launch of the Ultra Edition 13.8 (Z720). Flaunting a slender 13.8mm profile, the Z720 is the thinnest HSDPA slider phone on the market according to a Samsung press release.
The Ultra Edition 13.8 (Z720) measures 104.5 x 51.3 x 13.8 mm and weighs just 80 grams, making for an extremely light HSDPA handset. The handset supports WAP 2.0 and HTML browsing capabilities on its 2.1″ QVGA display.
The Z720 includes a 3 megapixel camera with auto focus and a second camera for video telephony. For business users, the phone has a document viewer, voice memo and PIM features. The Ultra Edition 13.8 supports microSD cards and is equipped with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. This is first handset from Samsung preinstalled with Google mobile search and Gmail. A Google icon in the application menu offers one-click access to Google search.
The Ultra Edition 13.8 Z720 also supports Samsung’s uGo and uTrack services. The uGo interface displays a city landmark of where you are located, adjusts the picture to represent day or night, and adjusts the time to reflect your location. The uTrack service is a security service that alerts the user of changes in the mobile’s SIM card or the location of the phone to increase the chances of recovering a lost or stolen phone.
The Samsung Ultra Edition 13.8 (Z720) has launched in selected European countries this month.
