HP is First with Blade Workstation Solution |
HP today introduced the industry’s first blade workstation solution. The new platform combines the benefits of a centralized data center with the performance of workstation-class machines. IT managers looking for a new workstation solution that delivers the security, reliability and manageability of a data center need look no further.
The heart of the HP Blade Workstation Solution is a small form factor client device that supports up to four displays. The client can make multiple blade connections when additional computing power is needed, thus dramatically reducing the heat, noise, and power consumption found in most desktop configurations.
Network administrators can now pack more computing power into their data centers; while adding, moving, and changing out PCs will be much easier and won’t affect operations. Other advantages include easier system maintenance and remote site operation, power and cooling, improved data security, disaster recovery support, and system uptime.
HP states that this solution is ideal for customers operating in the financial trading, public sector, and manufacturing industries. The Blade Workstation system was recently deployed at London-based Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets. Lloyds customized its 255-position trading floor with 280 HP ProLiant xw25p Blade Workstations.
The HP Blade Workstation Solution is available now in North America and Europe, the Middle East and Africa. More information is available at www.hp.com/go/workstations.
