Glofiish M700 Sliding Keyboard Pocket PC Phone

Posted in Mobile Phones by Paul Patterson on November 22nd, 2006

Glofiish M700E-TEN Information Systems recently announced the release of its latest innovative Pocket PC Phone, the glofiish M700. The glofiish M700 utilizes a full-key QWERTY keyboard for data input instead of the commonly used touch screen and stylus found on most traditional Pocket PC Phones. The keyboard makes it a bit easier to enter contact details, write SMS text and email messages, or create and edit office documents while on the move. The keyboard operates on a sliding mechanism to allow the keyboard to be covered when not in use; thus keeping the M700 compact and portable.

The M700 runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 and supports GSM, GPRS and high-speed EDGE for voice and data connectivity. In addition, the M700 incorporates 802.11b/g Wi-Fi support to allow users to connect to public and private Wi-FI networks. Lastly, the glofiish M700 features GPS and TMC functions delivered via an embedded SiRF Star III chipset.

Last month saw the release of E-Ten’s glofiish X500, claimed to be the world’s thinnest pocket PC phone at just 1.6cm-thick.
