Kodak EasyShare V705 Dual Lens Camera

Kodak EasyShare V705 Dual Lens
If you are a snapshot photographer like me, I can’t think of a feature set in a camera better than the new Kodak V705. An upgrade from the similar Kodak V570, the V705 has added a few upgrades including a 7.1 megapixel CCD. The Kodak V705 is a dual lens camera with dual sensor as well.
One thing I was surprised at is that this camera doesn’t have a dock. It is a Kodak Easyshare, but if you want to hook it up to a printer, there are some adapters or a plug in you can use. It’s not that inconvenient, but I just expected it to have a dock I guess. They have set the standard for us non-professional photographers, I guess. This camera does have a great big wide screen and 22 different scene modes, which is just great when you …

Street Smart Nokia 5200

Posted in Mobile Phones,Nokia,Smart Devices by Chetz on October 5th, 2006

Nokia 5200Nokia says their new 5200 mobile phone has a street smart design, and I have to agree with this one. This phone has a simplistic look that makes it easy to use and straight forward. No excessive bling or anything that will bring on any unnecessary attention. It almost looks like a phone you might use for talking.

Of course, the Nokia 5200 is a new mobile phone that has been recently released, so you know it’s not just for talking. Behind this unassuming exterior is a mobile phone that has all the features you would expect from a phone these days. It covers the big three frequencies (900/1800/1900), so you can go places, lots of places. And it travels well at only 85cc and 92mm tall.

The Nokia 5200 has a VGA camera with 4x zoom, along with a built in landscape camcorder and video …

Desperate Housewives Now on PC

Posted in Games by Quagmire on October 5th, 2006

Desparate HousewivesI have to be honest; I’ve never even seen Desperate Housewives. Regardless of my TV viewing preferences, Desperate Housewives: The Game has been released for the PC.

The game begins by creating a housewife. Your new housewife is an entirely new character that just moved onto the street. From there, the interaction between characters features all the drama you would expect from the women of Wisteria Lane. You progress through the game by talking to the other housewives and completing little tasks that may arise out of those interactions.

The video-game industry is intently watching to see if Desperate Housewives can attract more women gamers. Female gamers are a large growth area and remain one of the most elusive goals for developers and publishers.

I just feel bad for the poor sap to had to work on this game. You know it is …

ThermalTake X-Ray Cigarette Adapter and Beverage Holder For your PC

OK, how cool is this?

Well… I guess smoking might not be considered so cool, and maybe drinks aren’t the best thing to be setting on your PC, but if you are going to be smoking and drinking at your desk anyway, then “How cool is this!!”.

This is the Thermaltake X-Ray Cigarette lighter adapter and beverage holder. It fits into your 5.25″ drive bay and runs off of the power adapters in your PC. The cigarette light works like a cigarette lighter would in your car, and the beverage holder actually has an eject button to run it in and out like a disk drive.

Even if you don’t smoke this is pretty cool to hold drinks alone. And, aside from using the cigarette lighter adapter for lighting cigarettes, you can use it to charge things you normally …

Mobile Manager Screaming Phone Software

So let’s say your phone is stolen. Well, you can stop your service for that phone, but there are three things you may still be worried about:

You are out a phone and you have to buy another.
The data on the phone might be private and you don’t want someone else to have it.
The guy that stole your phone has one for free.

Well, chances are you’re out of luck for #1, but Synchronica might be able to help you with numbers 2 and 3. With Synchronica’s phone management software calle Mobile Manager you can take some action when you find your phone is missing and possibly stolen.

First of all, the software allows you to remotely delete the data that is on the phone, so the theif cannot get anything. That takes care of problem # 2. The next action is a “vocal” one …

Posted in Bluetooth,Keyboards,Logitech by Quagmire on October 3rd, 2006

Logitech diNovo EdgeI think it is time for me to get a new keyboard. Logitech today announced its new ultra-slim diNovo Edge Keyboard. The diNovo is a minimalist work of high-technology art. The diNovo is laser cut from a single, semi-translucent piece of black Plexiglas and set into a brushed-aluminum frame which is an anorexic ¾-inch thick.

The diNovo also breaks new ground in technology as it becomes Logitech’s first rechargeable keyboard. The diNovo also features an integrated touch-sensitive navigation and scroll panel, and includes embedded Bluetooth wireless technology.

The Logitech diNovo Edge keyboard is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe beginning in November witha MSRP of $199.99 (USD).

Logitech Has the Edge with DiNovo

Posted in Bluetooth,Keyboards,Logitech,Mouse by Darrin Olson on October 3rd, 2006

Logitech Dinovo Edge DesktopDesktops are really becoming more popular as things are becoming more wireless in general. The new wireless keyboard and mouse combination from Logitech further enhances the move towards disconnected innovation, and is doing it with some style.

A really nice feature with the DiNovo Edge which is not common in other similar desktops is having mouse-like navigation on the keyboard. Anyone that has had their keyboard sitting on their lap while leaning back in their chair has encountered the incredible inconvenience of finding they need their mouse for something. Having the Logitech TouchDisc on the keyboard can eliminate the need for your mouse and let’s you lean back and relax a little while working.

Another nice feature is some of the “stealth” hot keys that are backlit and only visible when activated by touch, and then fade away. There is also a touch sensitive …

Twist with the Nokia 3250 XpressMusic

Posted in Mobile Phones,Nokia,Smart Devices by Chetz on October 2nd, 2006

Nokia 3250 XpressMusic

This is what I like to see. Another mobile phone that is breaking the mold. Too much emphasis has been placed on being so thin and it’s nice to see Nokia tout the full-figured look with their 3250 XpressMusic. Another credit to their design ingenuity for not making this phone with a clam shell design, but more so for taking a different angle and making the design so that the base of the phone twists to perform different functions.

In the normal forward mode, the Nokia 3250 operates like a regular phone with the keypad in front for dialing and common functions. Twist the base 90 degrees and you are using the camera to take a picture at 2 megapixels or to record a short video. Turn it the same direction another 90 degrees and the multimedia controls are facing the front to play …
